My Experience
I am Philip and have recently retired from a career in the Independent sector which has spanned 30 years (1993-2023). During my career I have been Deputy Headteacher (Pastoral), Director of Higher Education and Professional Guidance, Assistant Headteacher, Deputy Head of Sixth Form, Boarding and Day Housemaster, Head of History and Politics and have led extra-curricular activities in many areas of school life. My specialisms lie in History and Politics from Key Stage 3 to IGCSE and A Level and in helping students to gain access to the best universities in the UK (Oxford, Cambridge, Durham, Bristol and Cardiff amongst them) and abroad as well as tutoring and coaching them to gain scholarships to the best Public Schools in England including Eton, Harrow, Godolphin and Latymer, Westminister etc.
My Experience
I am Alex and I have been teaching in the Independent sector since 1994. I have been Head of Department, Housemistress and Head of Teaching and Learning in a variety of different prep schools in the London area, home counties and west country complemented by time spent teaching in Asia too. Growing up in West London means I have an excellent understanding of and have tutored pupils to selective senior schools in the London area ranging from L.E.H, Tiffins, Westminister, Godolphin and Latymer, Wimbledon and Surbiton High as well as generations of my family attending Kings College, Wimbledon.
Most recently I have been Head of Teaching and Learning at one of the top performing IAPS prep schools in the country, with additional responsibility for Key Stage 2 English, 11+ and Pre Tests. Over 40% of the 2023 Year 8 cohort achieved a range of scholarships from academic, through to music, sport, drama and all rounder at some of the top boarding schools in the country such as Winchester, Eton, St Mary's Ascot, Wellington College, Bradfield, Cheltenham Ladies College, Wycombe Abbey, Canford and Bryanston.
About us
Family is everything to us -we like nothing better than spending quality time with our two daughters and five (yes, 5!) brothers, as well as our dog and two cats. We love the outdoors and both of us have always been keen on sport, competing whenever time allows and spectating in between! We are also keen walkers and love nothing better than holidays spent exploring The Pyrenees!
